Details

Sarah Flaherty is the Head of People of seed stage startup, Orum. She was previously a Business Partner at Capsule, and before that at Northwestern Mutual and Learnvest.

We're going to cover the following topics:

Remote-forward orgs:

  • Orum is remote-forward and they're defining what it means to be remote-forward and how that plays into the process we're putting in place
  • Rolling out compensation philosophies (when/how detailed, etc), implications of rolling out a comp philosophy that works nationwide in many different markets, not just HQ city

Scaling orgs 0-50:

  • People-related challenges and opportunities shift pretty dramatically in this phase of growth
  • What are the most impactful things for this size organization and how do you prioritize all of the asks when you're starting at zero in terms of resources/policies/practices/structure etc.
