Introduction

Right now, I am in the process of moving to Palo Alto to start my MBA at Stanford in August. I spent the last 2 years living in Kenya and Mauritius working at African Leadership Group (a network of education and leadership development organizations), first as Chief of Staff to the CEO and then as Director of Membership to launch a new lifelong learning community focused on connecting people to opportunities.

Before living in Kenya and Mauritius, I lived in New York for 3 years and was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley. I am excited to move back to the city for a couple of years!

Gives

  • Happy to chat with anyone who is applying to MBA programs about my experience
  • Also can share my perspective/experiences with anyone who is interested in Chief of Staff roles
  • Always eager to talk about entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan AfricaI
  • I also plan to move back to East Africa after graduating from business school, so if anyone is working on anything related to entrepreneurship in East Africa and wants to bounce ideas off of someone, I'm here for you! I am nowhere near an expert but I do have a strong network to think of possible connections in the region and am always looking to learn by thinking through/researching new challenges.

Asks

  • When I lived in Mauritius, I started surfing a lot. If anyone has recommendations or tips for surfing in New York, I'd greatly appreciate hearing more!
  • I am also in the very early stages of learning more about agtech (as a likely post MBA industry)
  • I would love to connect with anyone who knows a lot more about the space.
