We are seeking an NYC-based Community Coordinator to join the M13 Propulsion Team. M13’s Propulsion engine supports our portfolio companies by providing valuable insight and expertise across critical functions in order to help our founders grow their businesses. The Propulsion team allows us to give our founders a competitive advantage through knowledge and community, with the goal of materially impacting the trajectory of the companies that we invest in.
Reporting to M13’s Head of Community, the Community Coordinator will be an essential member of the team that interfaces with the firm’s exceptional community of influential founders, operators, and investors in the global tech ecosystem. The Community Coordinator will ensure that our community events deliver on M13’s promise to founders and inspire our broader network to be active members of our growing community.
As Community Events Coordinator you will:
- Support planning and execution of M13 community events, including portfolio- and external network-events
- Oversee vendor management and coordinate event logistics including but not limited to venue research and contract negotiations, catering, rentals, AV/IT, registration, staffing, nametags, photographers, and swag
- Support onsite with event execution and be willing to travel when needed
- Coordinate registration and support with event websites (when applicable), invitation creation, list management, and RSVPs, attendee tracking, and pre & post-event reporting via Hubspot
- Schedule kick-off meetings and circulate event briefs prior to events
- Under the direction of Partner, Head of Brand and Director of Community own all East Coast events and partner with M13 West Office Manager on the execution of West Coast events
- Manage events project planning in Notion
- Manage events calendar and all internal and external calendar invites/comms-making sure the firm is aware of all upcoming events
- Manage M13 portfolio event communications and tracking (invites, reminders, all comms)
- Logistics support for the creative aspect of events

- You are an expert at planning and coordinating and have a reputation for keeping everyone in the know when it comes to events
- You are an excellent communicator
- You are obsessive about the details and enjoy organizing information and data
- You are excited to build your capacity as a coordinator and see this as an excellent opportunity to learn and be mentored
- You are humble and easy-going

- You don’t have experience working in venture capital or tech but have the confidence and can tell the story about why your skills are transferable to this role
